About Our Coaches

 Our Coaches are all experienced runners and regularly take part in  in Road Running, Trail & Fell and Cross Country races. 

We have a policy of developing our coaches so that they continue to grow their skills and go on to create structured training schedules for the club as whole and also help individuals  develop their own training plans.   The development programmes we use for our Coaches follow the development approach advised by Welsh Athletics and UK Athletics.

All our Coaches vave been CRB checked.

Brian Ashton - Head Coach

 Achievements

Louise came to the Club  8 years ago with a background in road, trail, fell and triathlon. Whilst at the Club she has established herself as a serious long distance Road runner and as one of the most respected Trail & Fell runners in Wales - winning many races including the prestigious Man vs Horse.

With several year's experience as a Coach, Louise now leads the Monday and Tuesday Night effort sessions.  She takes principle position in the structure of the sessions and for the overll balance of the entuire training programme.

Helen Marshall

 Achievements

 Helen has been with the club for 4 years. Her passion for Cross Country and Trail running quickly led to her being appointed Cross Country captain and, injury barring, she regularly appears in  legaue events.

Helen primarily coaches the Monday evening Women's Section  although she will also lead the Tuesday Evening Seniors section.

Ian has been a member of the club since 2005, coming to running as a way of supplementing his football training. In the last two years Ian has really dedicated himself to his running, and has reaped the benefits of a consistent, structured approach to training. 

Ian was the first recipient of the Club's annual  "Pugnis et Calcibus" trophy which was named in his honour to recognise courage and determination.  Ian's improvement can be seen in his power of 10 record which shows marked improvements in his times over all distances.

Ian has come to coaching in order to share the benefits he has reaped and is the mastermind behind the Thursday night Tempo Training sessions.

 Achievements

 Edd is new to the running club and has siezed opportunity to become a a coach with both hands.

Still developing as an endurance runner Edd uses the knowledge he has learned from his Coach training to inform his own running and  puts it into immediate effect with others.
