 The time trial database contains information about training time trials we have run since 2001.

We can't claim that all the data is there but pretty well most of it is and now it has been updated with results of all our most recent time trials we'll endeavour to make sure it is kept up to date.

The database is built into an excel spreadsheet and you will need to have excel 97 or higher to be able to see the contents effectively. To make it easy for you to use the database has two sheets:

  • Our Races will give you information about each of our time trial races. First select a course and then Choose Gender to see the Top 5 times recorded for that course. Then select the dates when these time trials were run and the times recorded by all the runners who took part. 
  • My Races - is where you can look at all your personal performances. In this you can select your name to see all the time trials you have taken part in and then select each course in turn to see your personal best.
If you think there may be results missing from the database please let us know and we'll see what we can do to get them added.

 

 

 

          

 Our Time Trial Routes

 5k Bandstand                                                                                  See Route in Garmin Connect

Start by the Totem Pole in Park Avenue and head down the cycle path past the back of Morrisons.  Leave the cycle path and cross over the river bridge heading up hill to turn right into Min y Ddol. Continue for approx 400m  and turn right to join the footpath  to St Brieuc bridge. Turn left after the bridge and follow the cycle path past the start and on behind the police station. Continue under Trefechan Bridge, past the back of Rummers and then into the harbour going all the way down to the RNLI station.  Leave the harbour and turn right onto the prom, then  continue to the end at the Bandstand.

Starting on the Prom level with the bench opposite Siop y Prom the route heads all the way down to the RNLI Station, then sharp left through the harbour and on under Trefechan Bridge to pick the cycle path. Following the path the route heads past the back of Morrison's and then right over the bridge at the bottom of the hill and immediately right again along Min y Ddol. Running along Min Y Ddol the route turns right onto the footpath and over St Brieuc bridge and then left onto the cycle path back towards town. Passing to the rear of the Police Station the route heads under Trefechan Bridge, behind Rummers, through the harbour and past the RNLI station then turns along the Prom to the finishing point at the Bandstand.

Starts by the shelter opposite Siop y Prom and heads to the foot of Constitution Hill then right up the ramp and right again along Queens Road, crossing the road at North Parade to head along Llanbadarn Road. Following the bypass around Llanbadarn Square the route turns right towards Penparcau and, keeping left up the hill turns left after Penparcau infants school to "Top Shop", i.e  Delfryn Motors.

Crossing the road the route turns right towards town then left after Trefechan Bridge into South Road.

Heading onto the Prom by "The Hut" the route continues past Castle Point and the Pier to finish at the shelter.

First run in the 1960's, runners competed for the Corporation Cup which was won 3 times by club founder Ron Cullum whose best time was 25:31 back in 1961.

Club legend Frank Thomas is believed to have set a best ever time for the course of 24:09 in the 1980's.

 Rheidol Path 10 Mile

The race starts on the cycle path at the rear of the football club alongside Trefechan footbridge and in line with the lamppost about 10m past the bridge entry ramp. The route follows the Rheidol cycle path, past Morrison's, under the bridge and through Blaendolau fields, crossing the foot bridge from Blaendolau, and around past the cricket field and the water works. Runners must stay on the path on the right hand side as they continue on towards the industrial estate i.e. not the road!!. 

The route goes through the estate - heading right at the first T junction by Screwfix and then onto the left fork at the base of Moriah Hill to continue on the path towards Capel Bangor. The path continues for approx 2 miles heading over a gentle climb and passing farms and fields.

The 5 mile turnaround point is at the railway sign (with the train on it!!!) just before the level crossing . Return the same route to finish by the bridge.

Xmas Handicap 2.3 Mile.

This is simple, a run from one end ofthe Prom to the other and then back again - although it starts and finishes at the Bandsatnd. The handicap? Each runner starts at a different time - slowest runner first - so the fastest runners are always catching up. Everyone could finish at the same time - but could this be your personal best??

 Constitution Hill

Starting at the Bandstand the route heads along the Prom up the track to the top of Constitution Hill, over the top to pick up the road past the golf course and down Cliff Road to return to the Prom and back to the finish outside the Bandstand.

 

Pen Dinas Loop                                                                                     See Course in STRAVA

Starting in the marina area in front of the Court, the route proceeds through the marina onto Nanny Goat Lane and then through the gate on the left handside to begin the ascent of Pendinas. The course rises sharply over the next 400m and the levels out to follow the pathway around Pen Dinas heading generally towards Penparcau. Coming to a five bar gate the course turns sharp left to take the next climb up along the track to the monument before heading downhill. After going through the first gate runners turn left after about 10M-15M through the next gate and on down to the road and the finishing point just outside the fire station.          

 400m & 800m Sprints

On the track at the Sports Centre.  This is a chance for people to test out their sprint skills over 400m and/or 800m.  You can run in both options if you wish or focus yourself on just one of them. Runners will compete in groups of 4 at a time.

1 Mile - Plascrug

1 mile loop of Plascrug Avenue starting and finishing approx 200m from the gate end of the avenue, in line with tree central to the ramp that connects between Argos Retail park and the avenue. The route starts in the centre lane, heading towards the gates and then turns left to follow the outside lane (Argos side) down to the end of the avenue. The route turns left, crossing over the centre lane to left onto the opposite outside lane (i.e. Vicarage Fields side), heading all the back to the gates and then turning left back into the centre lane for the final sprint back to the start position.
